The community of Huaycàn is located in the district of Ate Vitarte, about 20 km east of Lima, the capital, and is part of its huge suburbs. Huaycàn has a population of about 160 thousand inhabitants and occupies an area of about square kilometers divided into 26 zones alphabetically ordered (A-Z).

The territory is characterized by the presence of rocky mountains to the south and poorly cultivable land in the north, where the population is concentrated.

 

The community of Huaycan is the result of the migratory phenomenon towards the capital, begun around the 50s, when the situation for the campesinos of the sierra became more and more complicated because all the socio-economic activities concentrated in the capital, causing a greater lack of interest by the institutions institutions towards their situation of poverty and disadvantage.

 

Description of the project

Microfinance program “Banquitos Comunales”.

Promote the activities of the program and propose guidelines for the development of specific themes that contribute to strengthening the program and its members.

 

Activities and responsibilities

• attend the meeting scheduled by the Banquito Comunal.
• develop specific trainings on entrepreneurial initiative, local and economic development with special attention to equal opportunities.

• Develop a bimonthly report with respect to the progess of the activities.
• Contribute to the program´s evaluation process.
• Be responsible for planning and directing training activities
• To proposte project ideas with national and international technical cooperation.
